Welcome! I’m Gerri, and I create out of my home studio in Michigan. Using professional quality watercolor paints and cotton paper, I create designs that showcase a love for my home state and the water that surrounds it.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved art. I rediscovered my love of painting in 2015 after a 15 year break in creating art consistently. In search of a creative outlet, I started experimenting with watercolor after my husband and two kids gifted me with a few tubes of paint, brushes, and paper. I started making cards for family and friends, adding my paintings to the front. Countless paintings later, I’ve stumbled upon something that fills me up and has found a place in my day to day life. Painting has always brought me joy, and sometimes life has a funny way of reuniting you with what your heart needs when the time is right.
Great Oaks is a term I used as a little girl to describe a stand of enormous oak trees that grew in the backyard of my childhood home. So large that it would take multiple people, standing hand-in-hand, to reach around the base. I grew up in awe of them. Those oaks are strong, long-standing, and rooted in a place of love and family.
Home, wherever that is for you now, is where you’ll make the memories that will last a lifetime. That’s something to be celebrated and treasured. I create meaningful designs that let you share that love.
